Holiday Wreath Giveaway!

Today's my birthday, and that makes it a great day to kick off a holiday giveaway, don't you think?

I'm celebrating my birthday on the blog this year with a giveaway sponsored by P. Allen Smith's Holiday Collection, with this beautiful, fragrant wreath from Allen's new Lodge Collection.  The Collection is inspired by National Parks lodges from the turn of the 20th century, and honors American craftsmanship and artistry.
The 20" wreath is made from fresh, sustainably-harvested, hand-tied Noble Fir and pine, with pinecone, birch and  snowflake accents, and can be used either indoors or outdoors.

The giveaway is open to US residents, and here's how it works:  Leave a comment on this post telling me where you'll use the wreath if you're the winner, or alternatively, share your favorite holiday memory, or your favorite holiday recipe - one entry per person.

For a bonus chance to win, leave a comment on my facebook page and tell me how you spell the cone of a pine tree - pinecone, or pine cone, or share any fun holiday anecdote you wish!  Inquiring minds want to know! (Or is that enquiring minds?)  Have fun, and be as creative as you like.

I'll need to be able to reach the winner, so be sure your email address is easy to find, either through your blogger profile, on your blog, or linked through your comment.  I'll need to hear back from the winner within 48 hours after emailing you.  If I can't track you down, or if you don't respond in time, an alternate winner will be selected.

The winning entry will be selected on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. Central Standard Time, via Random.org.  Once the winner is selected,  I'll update this post.

Update 9/16/12:  Congratulations, Thea - you won the wreath!  I wasn't able to find your email address so I contacted you both through your facebook, and google+ page.  Please contact me with your email address asap - no later than within 48 hours, or I'll need to select an alternate winner.

  4. Happy Birthday! :) Those wreaths are gorgeous!! I'd hang it in my kitchen window!
My favorite holiday memory is driving around to see the Christmas lights as a kid and attending a candle light service at our church. My favorite recipe I make every year is the traditional Toll House chocolate chip cookies! They're always a hit. Thanks for the opportunity and enjoy your day! xo

Those were all holiday traditions in my family too! Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. My dad used to make them when I was a kid.

  7. Growing up, my brother was allergic to pine trees, so we couldn't have a real tree. I was deprived of having the smell of pine all through my childhood. I would love to hang this beauty on the front porch.
Happy Birthday Linda...nice of you to think of others on your birthday.

  21. I would love to hang a beautiful wreath on my front door for the holidays. Normally it is an artificial wreath with things glued on it and another year it was a fresh (?) wreath I bought at Walmart. I think I deserve a beautiful wreath to hang on my door this year............at least I think so. Thank you for the offer.

When I became a Mom and Grandma, I had heard a story of a lady that took a garden knome and would put it in different places from Halloween on everyday before the kids got up. We would tell the kids he was santas elf and was watching for naughty and nice and reporting to santa. Then on Christmas morning he would either be under the tree or close to their beds. They had so much fun so when the girls started having their families I bought them each a garden knome because they enjoyed it so much.
Happy Birthday to you. If I was to win such a beautiful wreath it would be on my front door for all to see and enjoy. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

  32. HI ALLEN!

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y TO A SWEET MAN! i LOVE YOUR SHOW. Allen, Ive had a hard last 10 yrs with fibromyalgia. I dont have time to put up decorations because I dont feel well 100 percent of the time! However,,,,if I won a wreath, I would put THAT UP on my door. I live in an apartment building in Lynbrook, NY. All around us people have been hard hit. Homeless, sad, worried; everyone it seems. I, luckily the ONE time in my life escaped the madness. I had electric, heat and am safe. My daughter who is in college is safe too. I thank God for my blessings. Id love to win because it would brighten up my life. Instead of getting bills, I could receive a Gift!

Either way, You brighten my day every time I see you Allen. I love to watch your show. It brings out the gardener in me (in spirit) and makes me feel at peace. Love your personality.

Wishing you a beautiful birthday filled with love and good health.

    Love,
    Mary Haas

  35. Truthfully it is gorgeous, but I would probably give it to one of the church's in town to raffle off for someone in need. I know many people are in need right now in NYC and some of their families live locally. They would like to return home but can't and making their Christmas a little brighter would be the best present I could ever want. God Bless Ya'll This Season!

  42. Since the fire marshall won't allow fresh material (or even fake stuff) inside my nursing home, I'd find a place of honor just outside the front door.
