It's a nice time of year to visit Lake Katherine - everything was so pretty, and the light was gorgeous.

It's a completely different experience with the Little Guy Rose - less peaceful, but more lively and fun, and more social. I usually keep to myself, but he makes friends with everyone we come across. Mmmm. . . those beets will be delicious - enjoy! I love them prepared any way, and especially grilled or roasted.

Thanks MBT! I love the arbor too - almost talked the Lawn Man into one over the short path between the garden a lawn a couple of years ago, but he decided he didn't want his view of the lawn blocked. ;)garden girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13284047851881823280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7447389184218295999.post-25979092295852471382009-09-12T15:58:05.272-05:002009-09-12T15:58:05.272-05:00Nice collection of photos. It's so much fun spending time with the Little Guy!

Exactly right Monica! He loves being the center of attention! And yes, I really do love beets - one of my favorite veggies! (They're good grilled too! ;)

Since the seeds were free there's nothing lost but a little time if they don't make it, and they might be happier outdoors. I'm not sure if they need chilling over the winter. I did successfully overwinter a few very small hydrangea cuttings indoors last year, but they might have been just as happy outside.

The baptisias are so small - some don't even have their first true leaves yet. Some have a few. I still have more seeds, but was hoping to get a jump on their growth (and bloom of course,) by starting them after they were harvested. I'm figuring on at least two or three years before they bloom.

I could always try planting a few out and overwintering a few indoors. I like to experiment anyway.garden girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13284047851881823280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7447389184218295999.post-33894271977642406682009-09-11T14:55:13.216-05:002009-09-11T14:55:13.216-05:00What a spectacular day to be out with your wonderf...What a spectacular day to be out with your wonderful young man. If their roots look fairly defined, I would personally plant them outside now so they can acclimate as it gets colder. And I have baptisia seeds if that should fail and you want to blame it on me! LOL! :)Monica the Garden Faeriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06369882350990949968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7447389184218295999.post-19593483013401278412009-09-11T11:24:29.592-05:002009-09-11T11:24:29.592-05:00Looks like you had a ("Look at me!
